In Oceanography, Marine Biology and Fisheries, Marine Geology and Geophysics cover all regional and global grand challenges such as climate change and acidification, mucilage, deoxygenation, overfishing, habitat degradation, blue economy, green deal, and more.

 

WHO CAN APPLY?

Graduates from all departments of the following faculties who are interested in marine sciences can apply

a. Faculty of Engineering departments (as Chemical, Environmental, Computer, Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical, Mining, Petroleum, and Natural Gas)

b. Faculty of Arts and Sciences departments (Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics)

c. Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences

d. Graduate School of Applied Mathematics

 

FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR EXCELLENT MSC AND PHD CANDIDATES IN OCEANOGRAPHY

M.Sc. and Ph.D. Fellowships are offered to suitably qualified candidates in all departments at the Institute of Marine Sciences, METU. National and overseas students have a high prospect of receiving a monthly fellowship through the METU-IMS participation in national and international projects.
