Aim:

The two most common sea turtle species in the Mediterranean are; loggerhead sea turtle (Caretta caretta) and green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas) are classified as sensitive and endangered, respectively, according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) classification. It is aimed to protect the existing nests and extinction of sea turtles with regular monitoring studies carried out at METU Marine Sciences Institute, one of the most important nesting areas of sea turtles in Turkey.
