WHAT CAN BE STUDIED IN THE FIELD OF MARINE SCIENCE?
With the departments of Oceanography, Marine Biology and Fisheries, and Marine Geology and Geophysics, comprehensive study areas are provided for addressing both regional and global challenges. These challenges include but are not limited to climate change, acidification, mucilage, deoxygenation, overfishing, habitat degradation, blue economy, green deal, and more.

Graduates from various departments within the following faculties and institutes who harbor an interest in marine sciences are encouraged to apply:

- Faculty of Arts and Sciences departments (Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics)
- Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences
- Graduate School of Applied Mathematics
- Faculty of Fisheries, Faculty of Aquatic Sciences
- Institute of Earth Sciences
- Institute of Marine Sciences
FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR MASTER OF SCIENCE (M.SC.) AND DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY (PH.D.) CANDIDATES IN MARINE SCIENCES.
M.Sc. and Ph.D. Fellowships are extended to well-qualified candidates across all departments within the Institute of Marine Sciences at METU. Both national and international students stand a strong chance of securing monthly fellowships through the METU-IMS active involvement in national and international projects.
