Aim:

Black Sea CONNECT is the first study in its field for the Black Sea, and METU's first multi-partner Horizon 2020 consortium coordinatorship. Project aims to scientifically, technically and logistically support the broader Black Sea Blue Growth Initiative, supported by the European Commission (EC) and composed of country-appointed experts, stakeholders and various national and international organizations. Black Sea CONNECT is the first project in its own field for the Black Sea. The overall objective of the Black Sea CONNECT is to coordinate the development of the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA), based on the defined principles in the Burgas Vision Paper and support the development of the Blue Economy in the Black Sea.

Aim:

The project aims to advance the Black Sea’s marine research and innovation to co-develop Blue Growth pathways under multi-stressors for the sustainable utilization of ecosystem services. To do so it develops an ecosystem-based management framework to enable policy uptake and foster citizen engagement. BRIDGE-BS advances knowledge and delivers research under three NODES: Service Dynamics, Blue Growth Incubators, and Empowered Citizens. The NODES will be highly interlinked, feeding on and into each other.

Aim:

Within the scope of the protocol signed with Çukurova Development Agency, an online information platform based on Geographic Information Systems (GIS) will be created where nature, environment, human and economic activities in coastal and marine areas along the Mersin and Adana coasts can be evaluated together. In this context, management plan proposals such as Blue Economy investment proposals suitable for the region, and the selection of the most suitable area for investments in the Blue Economy without harming each other and the ecosystem will be developed.
