For half a century, the METU Institute of Marine Sciences has been at the forefront of advancing marine science in Türkiye and beyond. Since its foundation, the Institute has contributed to the conservation of marine ecosystems and the development of a sustainable blue economy through academic excellence, pioneering research, environmental awareness initiatives, and scientific discovery.
The “50 Years with Science” film and photo exhibition presents this legacy through images and stories, from research vessels to laboratory studies, from international collaborations to expeditions that deepen our understanding of marine ecosystems.
